Collide Wholefoods

Although modest in size, this project is easily one of me favourite projects as a designer. Collide Wholefoods was a small, boutique wholefoods store located in Criterion Street Hobart (sadly, the store closed in late 2023). The owner was as equally dedicated to social causes and the betterment of society as she was at enabling others to improve their health. She was immediately trusting in accepting my recommendations and ideas and suggested a highly collaborative relationship with both her and the architect/builder Guy Paramore.

As part of the project, we commissioned Tasmanian artist Dane Chisholm to create a unique artwork that would be used across a variety of the store’s collateral and on a large banner that hangs in the store’s front window. The Collide brand needed to work as a parent brand, with multiple sub brand expressions, such as Collide / Wholefoods, Collide Food / Company,  Collide / Collagen Bars, etc. We were able to easily arrive at a flexible brand system and aesthetic by embracing a very trusting and open client/designer relationship.
